Yellow Jackets Make a Big Splash on the Road

Georgia Tech pulls off a big win on the road at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium. Haynes King had a solid day against the Demon Deacons, putting up 222 yards of offense with two touchdowns. King went 16/27 in passing completions. The Yellow Jackets’ strong runner, Jamal Haynes, also had a good day with one touchdown and 95 yards rushing. We can’t forget about Haynes King’s primary receiver, Eric Singleton Jr. Singleton caught a 31-yard touchdown to make it 7-3.

Saturday was clicking for the Yellow Jackets in all three phases, as they even forced a turnover on downs right after the previous scoring drive.

Despite the interception in the first quarter from Haynes King, Georgia Tech showed us what they are capable of on the road. Regarding defense, Jaylon King and Kenan Johnson were ball sharks. Jaylon King read the eyes of Mitch Griffis and picked him off twice. And Kenan Johnson couldn’t be left out of the party either because he followed up and got a huge interception, too.

The biggest takeaway for Georgia Tech would be to limit the penalties. They had a total of 14 during Saturday’s game. The Yellow Jackets aren’t known for penalties this season; keeping that under control will be crucial in these ACC matchups.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets bump up to sixth in the ACC and return home this Saturday to play against Bowling Green at 3:30.
