Spurs Unable to Match Warriors in Game 1
The San Antonio Spurs were unable to match the play of the Golden State Warriors in game 1, as a result, they lost by a score of 113-92.
The Warriors came out with a lot of intensity on the defensive side of the ball, and it carried on throughout the game. They even got some extra points from an unlikely source, JaVale McGee. Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 27 points, and Kevin Durant followed with 24 of his own. The Spurs leading scorer was Rudy Gay with 15.
The Warriors did not seem to miss Stephen Curry as they had complete control of the game from start to finish. The Spurs were not so lucky as Kawhi Leonard’s absence was evident. The Spurs inability to beat the warriors off the dribble and make Kevin Durant work on either side of the ball put them in a horrible position.
LaMarcus Aldridge did not step up in the way that the Spurs hoped he would as he only had 14 points. The Spurs will look to bounce back, and the Warriors will look to continue their dominance in game 2.
