Golden State Turned up the Heat beat Spurs 116-101

Golden State used great second half offense to beat the Spurs 116 to 101.

San Antonio did come out with some fire as they lead going into the second half 53-47 and only committed 1 turnover throughout the first half. No matter how good the Spurs were playing, it seems like the Warriors were just one run away from taking the lead as the Spurs had no answer for the dominant scorer, Kevin Durant.

The Spurs last true chance to stay in the game was at the beginning of the fourth when they were only down five, but unfortunately for them, that’s when Kay Thompson and Draymond Greene came alive to seal things up for the warriors.

The San Antonio Spurs knew this series was going to be an uphill battle from the outset, but they did have some things working for them in this game. They were able to get inside and make shots which open things on the perimeter and gave Danny Green, Kyle Anderson and Patty Mills wide open three attempts. LaMarcus Aldridge was huge in this effort as he scored 34 points.

The Spurs and Warriors will continue to battle it out in the first round as the series moves to San Antonio for game 3.
