Atlanta United announced Thursday afternoon that the club has signed midfielder/forward Jake Mulraney from Heart of Midlothian F.C.
Mulraney, a native from Ireland, 23, has played soccer professionally in Scotland the last two years. Before then, he began his soccer career in England.
“We’re excited to add another quality attacking player to our club in Jake,” Atlanta United Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra said in a statement. “He’s a direct player with a lot of pace who can play anywhere across the front three. As he’s in the middle of a season, Jake will be able to get up to full fitness quickly and immediately compete.”
Mulraney began his career with Queen Park Rangers in 2014 and then was loaned out to Dagenham & Redbridge FC in 2015, but then was also loaned out to Stevenage FC in the beginning of 2016.
During the summer of 2016, Mulraney made his move to Scotland and signed with Inverness Caledonian Thistle, where he appeared in 64 matches and scored three goals and had two assists in two years.
In the summer of 2018, he made his move to Hearts.
