GEORGIA TECH

Rambling Wreck Preparing to Ride High Against SCSU Bulldogs

We are back in hot Lanta! The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are again home to play against the South Carolina State Bulldogs. Last week, the Yellow Jackets showcased their talents against the Louisville Cardinals. Yellow Jackets fell short in a nail-biting performance, leaving the score 39-34. Georgia Tech is looking to add a W in the win column this week.

After an exciting game, all the nervous jitters should be gone, and we hope to see improvement from the first game to the second as we watch the Yellow Jackets put together all four quarters of football. The Louisville Cardinals stunned Georgia Tech by shutting them out in the third quarter. It will also be key for the Yellow Jacket to limit the turnovers, as they were killers in last week’s matchup.

We also look to see just as much excitement from starting Quarterback Haynes King once again. His performance from the first game was stellar, with him being able to operate within the pocket and use his legs when needed to pick up a first down. King recorded 313 passing yards and 53 rushing yards.

As far as the South Carolina State Bulldogs, they will also be looking to add a W. The Bulldogs have already played two games this season. The first game was against Jackson State Tigers, which had a final score of 37-7, and the second was against Charlotte 49ers, at which the final score was 24-3. The odds are stacked against the Bulldogs, with a 1.9 win percentage. South Carolina State has started two different Quarterbacks this season. Corey Field Jr. started against Jackson State.

He had 60 yards passing, one touchdown, and one interception. Fields went 7-20 in passing completion. Andre Washington started against Charlotte. Washington went 6-17 in passing completion, 59 yards passing, and one interception. One could say the Bulldogs hope to look to get into a rhythm this game against the Yellow Jackets turnovers and completions weren’t in their favor in the previous games.

Georgia Tech should look at this game like any other, as South Carolina State is the underdogs and could make something shake due to them being so. The Yellow Jackets line up to play at Bobby Dodd Stadium at 1 pm EST.
