Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Shea Patterson will miss the rest of the season. He has torn his PCL, according to The Clarion-Ledger‘s Antonio Morales.
He injured his knee on Saturday against the LSU Tigers. He left the contest in the second quarter, but then returned in the second half with a brace.
This is definitely a tough blow for the team, as Patterson was having a good year.
The sophomore signal-caller has gone 166 of 260 for 2,259 passing yards. He has also thrown 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
Against the Tigers, he went 10 of 23 for 116 yards. He also had three interceptions in the Tigers’ 40-24 win over the Rebels.
Their new quarterback will try to get the team back on the winning track. They have lost three of their past four games with the lone win coming against the Vanderbilt Commodores when they won 57-35.
JUCO transfer Jordan Ta’amu is expected to get the start next week against the Arkansas Razorbacks. The game will be played at noon on the SEC Network.
Ta’amu went 7 of 11 for 78 yards against the Tigers when Patterson was out with his injury.
