The College Football Committee rankings have stayed the second as the first week with the Top 4. The Georgia Bulldogs continue to be the top team in the country, according to those in the room, who rank the Top 25 in Grapevine, Texas.
Like last week, the Alabama Crimson Tide continued to be the second-best team in the country. Following them is the only independent school in the rankings in the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
The Clemson Tigers, despite a loss to the Syracuse Orange, are holding onto the fourth spot.
The two on the outside looking in come from the Big 12 Conference. The Oklahoma Sooners, who had to escape a high-scoring effort in Bedlam with the Oklahoma State Cowboys, are presently slotted in the fifth position.
The TCU Horned Frogs, who defeated the Texas Longhorns 24-7 on Saturday, are presently in the sixth position.
The top five stayed the same from the initial 2017 standings. However, TCU replaces the Ohio State Buckeyes, who were blown out against the Iowa Hawkeyes, 55-24, at Kinnick Stadium.
Georgia and Alabama are the only undefeated teams in the rankings with 9-0 records. If everything goes according to plan, these two teams will clash in early Dec. in the SEC Conference Championship at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga.
Notre Dame through TCU each has one loss with 8-1 records. TCU also moved up two spots in this week’s rankings compared to last week, where they were 8th overall.
